Stravinsky: Once At A Border (A Film by Tony Palmer)

This biographical film about one of the most important and influential composers of the 20th century includes documents, photographs and film never seen publicly before. Stravinsky’s three surviving children talk about their father and there are contributions from the late Madame Vera Stravinsky, George Balanchine, Marie Rambert, Kyria Nijinsky and many friends and colleagues. Included in the film are important performances of Les Noces, Firebird, and Petrouchka (especially recreated for this film by the Bolshoi from the original 1911 choreography by Fokine) and also a priceless film of Stravinsky himself.
